With the Hitachi HDC 109 TE camera - I need advice about memory card?

Hi I would like to buy a Hitachi HDC 109 TE camera however I am worried about the memory card in that its a bit a new to me - I have read that you will need a mirco sdhc card in order to store a reasonable amount of pictures - however how do you install this card to the camera or format it? Also once the card is in the camera and is storing photos - if you plug the camera into your pc with a usb cable is that sufficient to transfer files to your pc? or do you need a micro sdhc card adapter as well, which comes in the form of a larger card?
