Can people get their teeth filed?

Since my wisdom teeth came in, they've been cutting my mouth, gums and cheek something awful. The issue is, they are side-ways impacted and if I get them removed they will cost $2200.00 (e.i. money I don't have right now) as it will be a major surgery that must be done by a specialist. In the meantime, could I get the points that are causing me pain filed down for a more reasonable price? Will a dentist even do such a thing on teeth that are going to end up having to be removed sooner or later?
