What is the best medication for hypothyroidism?

I wish it could be natural but something that works. I am not on any meds cause the last med Levothyroxine .25 that I took left me with pain in my upper throat? I have an appointment to a specialist but all the way in august & want to know before I go in what the best meds are so I can ask the specialist for it. Is there even a cure for hypo?? I keep seeing videos on people on the raw diet that say they cured there's & others but don't explain it too well. : ( I read that a med just like levo was recalled for causing heart problems & levo causes heart problems too... : (
