Need help with crochet pattern?

You are doing an increase, so, you are doing a hdc in each stitch plus a hdc in between each stitch ending with twenty stitches by the time you finish your second round. An alternative, although, not recommended might be to do 2hdc into each stitch. It wouldn't be as even though with a slight difference in the look of the pattern.
